county government
sheetpile bulkhead inspection & NDT
Project Overview
Provided commercial diving inspection and non-destructive testing services for a county government sheet pile seawall structure. Operations focused on assessing underwater steel condition, identifying corrosion, measuring remaining wall thickness, and documenting structural conditions to support maintenance planning and asset life-cycle decisions.
Scope of Work
County government infrastructure inspection
Sheet pile seawall condition assessment
Underwater non-destructive testing
Steel thickness measurement
Corrosion and section-loss evaluation
Visual inspection and documentation
Marine infrastructure assessment
Inspection reporting support
Services Performed
Diver inspection of submerged sheet pile seawall sections
Visual condition assessment of steel sheet piles
Identification of corrosion, pitting, scaling, deformation, and section loss
Inspection of seams, interlocks, joints, wales, tie-back connection areas, and splash-zone conditions
Removal of marine growth and surface buildup at test locations
Surface preparation for accurate testing points
Ultrasonic thickness testing using a Cygnus gauge
Micrometer verification where accessible and applicable
Measurement and documentation of remaining steel thickness
Mapping of test locations and condition findings
Photo and video documentation of underwater conditions
Reporting support for repair recommendations and maintenance planning
